The Green Design Lab Energy Challenge is back with a record-breaking 55 schools all completing to cut down their electricity consumption!
The energy challenge is a contest that runs from December to March between participating schools. The schools’ electricity use is recorded each month and compared to the electrical usage for the same month from previous years. The schools that have the highest electricity reduction will be the winners!
Our first month data has been measured and reveals impressive results. The schools have averaged nearly an 8% reduction in electrical use. Also, four of the competing schools have managed to cut electrical use by over 20%! January results are currently being collected, so far so good.
With two months remaining in the challenge, we are expecting additional impressive results from our schools. Stay posted for updates as results come in, and remember to turn off your lights!
