Education Program Offerings

Innovative K-12 Education Programs!

  • Solar One offers innovative programming to K-12 students throughout all 5 boroughs of New York City. Our enrichment programs are typically 1-1.5 hours long on-site here at the Solar One education center or at your school. Our programs are Free, but we ask for a materials fee of $2-5/student based on availability of funds.
  • We offer programs that discuss - Renewable Energy, Sustainable Design, Estuary Ecology and Environmental Art. Please fill out a Pre-Visit Form (.DOC) to schedule a class.

How to Schedule a Class:

Solar One is open for classes Monday- Wednesday from 9am - 5pm.

  1. To schedule a class fill out a quick Registration Form that tells us about your school, which program you would like to be involved with and dates that are available for in-classroom and on-site sessions!
  2. Fill in your availability and program preference and email it to us at: education[at]solar1.org.
  3. Please include your contact information and several date and time for in-school and on-site sessions in all inquiries to our Education Team.

Our Mission

The mission of Solar One’s education program is to facilitate applied experiential Learning opportunities through science, design & art. Our programs explore relationships between the natural and built environment using the urban ecology of New York City as a focal point to investigate renewable energy, sustainable design, estuary ecology, and environmental art.
